Dr. Gary Robson started his career in education as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines. Between 1987 and 1996, he taught students and trained teachers in Asia and Micronesia before returning to the US, where he earned his doctoral degree. During his time in the US, he worked with students and teachers in a variety of settings, wrote two books, and helped his son to become the youngest chess grandmaster in the US. Dr. Robson’s last position in the US was as a Professor of Education, which ended in 2012 when he returned to SE Asia to develop and lead an international school for more than a decade. While doing so, he also served as Chair on a number of WASC accreditation visits to schools throughout SE Asia. He went into temporary retirement in August of 2023 in order to serve as a caregiver for his parents.
