Letter from the Headmaster

Dear Reedley School Community,

These are emotionally and psychologically difficult times. Everyone has serious concerns for the health of families, colleagues, and friends. With disruptions to normal routines caused by COVID19, individuals may experience fatigue, worry, and feel uncertain about the future. We can overcome these challenges as our communities work together.

The measures taken by the Philippine government are beneficial and helpful. Reedley International School has also taken steps to thwart the increase of infections.

The school has implemented E-Learning for all classes, which will continue until April 14th. Classes will resume on April 15th. Continued learning opportunities for students are important despite these circumstances. The school is confident students will successfully complete the 2019-2020 school year and be prepared for the next academic year. Also, the school has implemented Work from Home (WFH) protocols for school employees. All school personnel will remain home and facilitate their responsibilities using the internet until April 14th. However, at times employees may need to come to school, but this is closely monitored in accordance with current quarantine measures.

Prior to the suspension of classes, the school engaged in activities to mitigate potential spread of infections. Temperature checks began in January. Desks, chairs, floors, door knobs, elevator buttons and comfort rooms were sanitized daily. Masks were provided for anyone who requested one, while supplies lasted. Two hand-sanitizing stations were available on each floor. Life Skills Teachers conducted lessons for all students about COVID19 and proper hygiene. After class suspensions, the school conducted deep cleaning of all areas and will repeat this before classes re-start in April.

Student re-enrollment will continue as planned. The registrar’s office has distributed an enrollment letter to the school community. This communication is through email and will be followed by hard copy after school resumes in April. This letter contains important information in how current families can re-enroll their children for the 2020-21 school-year. Please note the school is also accepting new student applications for the next academic year.

To contact the school please call 0917-5898714 for the Registrar’s office; 0917- 3290827 or 0927-0481795 to contact school nurses; 0906-4350094 to contact IT; 0917- 3290827 for school security; 0917-5079311 for HR questions; 0917-5079306 to connect with the Admissions Office; and, 09177095043 or 0917-8171771 for Accounting inquiries. Also, please note, April 8th through April 13th are official school holidays

School personnel have been and are working diligently to ensure the operations of the school continue in a satisfactory manner. Of primary importance is the safety and welfare of the entire school community and to ensure appropriate student learning continues during these unprecedented times. Please take all necessary precautions to protect your family. As always, be assured RIS is ready and willing to assist you in any way possible with your children’s educational needs. We trust this season will quickly pass. Be safe!

For all Reesians,
William E. Tackett, Headmaster
