The classroom is an avenue where students acquire knowledge in different content areas to improve their understanding of the world. Education, on the other hand, is not limited to the four corners of the classroom. Learning, then, becomes more meaningful as the students experience first hand the relevance of what is being taught in the classroom.
Reedley International School does not fail to fulfill this important mandate in education: providing students with relevant experiences for better learning while integrating character education into the curriculum and school culture. Reedley’s annual House Launch serves as a platform to students from Lower School to Senior High School wherein camaraderie, collaboration and sportsmanship are practiced as they play with fairness. The students work together as one in achieving a common goal: to accumulate as many points as they can for their houses. This year’s House Launch was held at Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig last September 27, 2018.
All Reesians participated and enjoyed the much-awaited games such as Statue Dance, Straw Relay, Tic-tac-toe, Balloon Toss, and Over and Side. The event was also highlighted by an impressive dance performance by some of the Powerjive members. Not to forget, there was also was the exciting battle of House Chants between the Green Giants, Maroon Dragons and White Unicorns.
At the end of all the events, points were given to the best house. The Green Giants ranked 2nd runner-up as they gained a total of 405 points, while the White Unicorns placed 1st runner-up as they gathered 455 points. This year’s House Launch Over-all Champion was awarded to the Maroon Dragons who got a total points of 560.
For students, teachers and other Reesians, this House Launch is the beginning of a thrilling battle between the Dragons, Unicorns and the Giants wherein teamwork, camaraderie, unity, sportsmanship and character will be challenged the Reedley way! Good luck Houses!
