Reedley International School was founded in 1999 by Nellie Aquino-Ong. The name was bestowed as a tribute to Reedley College, California, USA, a small community where Mrs. Ong studied and excelled with the help of nurturing teachers and mentors.
After his success in the Gold Rush in the 1800s, Thomas Law Reed donated the land to the community and the town became known for its excellent nurturing of fruit harvests. This value of nurturing was evident among teachers and administrators in Reedley College and is seen today in Reedley International School.

Never have we seen such times in recent memory! Conditions have impacted every aspect of our society, including education. As a school, we have faced these challenges. Our excellent programs not only address academics but all aspects of student life, socially and emotionally even through distance learning.
I am excited as we enter a new school year. Our technology hardware and software have been updated and teachers have received outstanding professional development in order to enhance their use of technology for instruction. Our teachers will continue to offer timely feedback to students, live classes, support outside the class, academic consultations, life skills, and life coaching, not to mention virtual social gatherings and learning excursions. Not every school can boast these kinds of offerings! Please review our distance learning primers to learn more about these and other exciting academic and social educational opportunities.
Reedley fosters a community spirit and an interconnectedness between students and teachers, which will not be lost during distance learning. We continually look for ways to further develop our programs. As we encounter new challenges, we are ready to face these by applying best practices to meet the learning needs of all students. Students will grow academically, socially, and emotionally ensuring they are ready for their futures even during these uncertain times.
We wish everyone the very best as we continue this journey together. As always, be safe!
Sincerely for all Reesians,
Sgd.
